The experience I had in this class was beyond my expectations. I learned many different concepts like Web Trends, Responsive Web Design, Mobile First, Touch Screen, Dark Mode, PWA, SVG & Text Masking, Web VR, and adding social media to your website. Tammy Freud (my teacher) went above and beyond to help us learn more in a one-credit class. I love having Tammy Freud as my teacher, and some projects may be challenging, but she is always here to help.
I found that adding more stuff to my portfolio became difficult. It seems the more add, the lengthier it gets. Another thing was the dark mode, and I could not get it to work in my navigation on the dark mode page. I ran into a few errors with some of the PWA's. I am thankful that some of the mistakes were resolved in GitHub. I think the last project for the portfolio was challenging in itself. I added many pages to complete another website, but I just copied off that since I already started a portfolio. Then I just changed some stuff, and I was happy with the outcome. When checking accessibility, it wanted to add headings, but that wasn't a heading. From what I understand, bigger fonts could mean headers. I like the design, and changing this would compromise the portfolio design.
I think what I would improve in my final project is figuring out the accessibility and fixing that. I would also add more complex tools and resource pages, splitting those into two sections. I didn't have to make another web page, but I can add more to my other portfolio with something more dynamic.
Expanding my learnings, I would go back to the four subjects I knew little about, like Web VR, SVG and Text Masking, Dark Mode, and PWA's. Since these are relatively new, I think covering these topics in more depth would help me better understand the programming behind making these website projects.
One of the plans I do want to explore is Parallax scrolling. I thought that was one challenge I would like to expand on my learnings. I do want to look into API as well, but I will hold off on that because that might be a little more challenging to do, but I will look into that in the future. One last note, I am thinking of getting another degree in this field, maybe the mobile or getting my bachelor's degree, but part-time.
